I love turning the old and broken into new pieces of jewellery. To me, jewellery is a statement, and a subtle way of showing who you are, conveyed not only through its design, but how it's made. It is an art in itself, and making a new piece of jewellery from something old shows that we can bring the past into the present, and promote the recycling of materials into our future.
My inspiration really comes from looking at the stuff I have; I love finding out the history of things, particularly when I'm using vintage jewellery, machinery or cutlery, and knowing where they came from, then piecing them together in new and unusual ways to both reflect its past as well as creating a unique design that suits the present day.
Every piece I make is a one-off; I don't like creating the same thing more than once, not only because it allows me to push myself into thinking more and more creatively about pieces, but because I believe that jewellery, the accessories that represent you as an individual, should be as unique as you are.
