A linear economy is one of our biggest problems as a modern society, as we have created a dumpster of our Planet. Our modern ways are really harming our planet, our communities and us as individuals.
With a background in architecture, and set design I approach jewelry design as an architect building but at a micro scale. From pieces I brought from Mexico, old jewelry hand-picked from thrift stores, and donations from the lovely women in my life: these have become my main materials.
The world of fabrics, thread and fashion has also been familiar to me as a Film Production Designer and my education in fine arts. Furthermore the expression through different mediums, colors, textures, light, elegance, and envisioning new possibilities is my jam.
Sustainability and social change has always been in my interests as well, how our daily acts can create a positive change in our society. My curiosity had led me to embark on a journey of learning how to grow food and permaculture design. What has impacted as well the way I design and integrate new materials, hence I only source them from small or local businesses, so my creations are kept sustainable.

Magdala represents my muse, an Ode to the unique beauty, radiance and innate inner power of the feminine torrent in our World.
Upcycling is the reuse (discarded objects or materials) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.
Moreover, this new way of creative reuse has birthed one-of-a-kind / unique pieces and limited edition by definition.

As a community we can all support a circular economy by buying local, reusing, mending our garments, upcycling, collaborating, and connecting with the natural cycles. We can help enormously to ease the big problems we are facing as a humanity today. Because we do have the power to create a sustainable society with our everyday actions and choices, by becoming an active part of the solution.
