KELLY LOTTAHALL ILLUSTRATION

Kelly Lottahall Illustration

Virginia, United States of America

I use old, thrifted, unwanted, and at times surplus, clothing to create all of my art work. I leave my illustrations in black and white so that the fabric can bring the art to life. I truly began doing it A few years ago when I would cut my old clothes to give them “fresh looks”, and I would have all these scraps left over. I believe I just told myself to save them and try to make them into little clothes for my fashion figures. Eventually I kept saving the more scraps and making more art for drawings, that it really became something special.

Most of my work is inspired by what I’m drawn to the most such as street style, fashion week, and women. We have so much style, so much confidence out there, where to draw inspiration from us absolutely endless. I’ve just recently begun to desire more and more jewelry to incorporate into my work. So I’m deeply excited to reuse pieces that people would otherwise throw away.
