Through Adornment I create affordable ethical jewellery that transcends trends by reusing sustainable vintage, preloved or unwanted materials. All pieces are designed & handcrafted by me and packaging is plastic free, recycled and/or recyclable
I began making jewellery when I was little, which led to me training as a silversmith & I have been making jewellery consistently for 25 years.
Adornment came about because of my love of vintage jewellery. Well, that’s how I feel about it, but for some people it can be a bit, well, weird. Or it doesn’t suit their style, seems dated, can often be a bit worse for wear or is in fact, just broken. I've loved vintage jewellery and materials, and been concerned about sustainability since I was a teenager. That naturally led me to seek out cool vintage and preloved shiny things in charity and thrift shops to rework into modern jewels, rather than buying new materials.
All the vintage or preloved jewellery and components I work with are carefully selected. I do have to use some new hardware but seek to reuse materials wherever I can.
